2026 Year in Review

Time really feels it accelerates as I get older in a way that didn’t feel true in my teens and early twenties. I find what grounds me is variety that breaks up the day to day as well as quantity of memorable events that occur in a time period rather than the actual time passing. Likewise for remembering what happened in a specific year or month. So I’m going to track what’s actually happened this year that I found memorable.

Since November – June: Lost 40 pounds. I went from 230 to 190 lbs, roughly. This one is little less granular because it’s continuous change, so from day to day I don’t feel particularly different, but thinking about my experiences from then in terms of how my clothes fit to now is night and day.

January – Now: Started writing in my blog again. I’ve written 20+ blog posts in 5 months, which is a much better track record than my previous years. The cadence has slowed down as of April and May, but I do think my March-May run has the best writing work of anything else I’ve produced on this blog.

Not an accomplishment, per se – more like a new interest. I’ve gotten into shopping for vintage clothing online on eBay and Poshmark in an attempt to upgrade my sartorial choices and aesthetic range. I also incorporate a lot of AI to review my fit and play with new styles – I do think the stuff I’m coming up with now is a marked improvement on my normal T shirt and jeans with sneakers, though my current wardrobe is too small to change up too much – I’m on the lookout for more clothes and styles to try.

April: Bought a walking pad, started walking 3 miles a day on average as a baseline. This one coupled with my diet changes helped me break through my weight plateau at 200 lbs.

March: I started fibermaxxing. I take a mix of yerba prima soluble fiber formula (link here) and their orange flavored daily fiber formula. The orange fiber has about 50 calories a tbsp, whereas the normal fiber formula has 20 calories a tbsp. The orange mix is good but too many calories to hit my daily RDA of 38ish grams of fiber. The normal fiber mix is gross on its own, so I do a 2:1 mix of normal to orange to lower calorie count while hitting higher fiber counts. I typically take a shot of this mixture in the morning or night, roughly 30 g of fiber, which maintains a daily baseline. I let the rest of my fiber come from my normal diet.

Other goals I want to hit this year:

  • Fix my sleep schedule
  • Continue improving my clothing style and aesthetics
  • TBD
